The text shape effect is used frequently and repetitively when the lyrics 'LIKE WE'RE STILL 17' pop up in the song. The text shape effect was much easier and simpler than I thought it was going to be. I made it on adobe premiere pro, so I didn't have to open any other adobe softwares such as adobe after effects or anything. I followed the simple steps I found on google and on the short youtube tutorial attached below the screenshots of my own work.
The steps were pretty simple. All you had to do was select the video you wanted to use. Then create a new title, adjusting the size and changing up the font. Your title text then shows up in the box where all of your videos are stored. I then dragged the title onto my selected clip. To get the video inside the text, I had to open up the keying folder and select the track matte key effect. I then dragged this effect onto my video.
I did this to all videos selected with the lyrics 'LIKE WE'RE STILL 17'.
I think the most challenging part of this effect was definitely cutting the clips down into separate words 'LIKE', 'WE'RE' ,'STILL', '17'. This is because the lyrics move extra fast, it's almost a second or less for each shot.
I added extra filters and effects on top of the text shape effect. This is because personally I found the black background too boring and simple, it needed to be made brighter and more vibrant like the rest of the video. I added pink strobe lights on some, blue glitter on others and twinkly fairy glitter I made on after effects on the others.
I have attached some screenshots below from my music video of scenes that include 'the text shape effect'. The text shape effect definitely gave my video a more 'realistic' feel .
